Troubleshooting Slack Notifications

If your employees are not receiving notifications in Slack, follow these steps to resolve the issue.

Checking Slack Modal

Use the Slack modal to determine which channel your organization has selected to receive Company-level notifications at (for Holidays/OOO/etc).

  • To check the Slack modal, access the Marketplace from the left-side navigation. Search for Slack in the search bar. Screenshot 2024-07-11 at 12.28.43 PM
  • Upon clicking on the Slack card (pictured above), a modal will pop up for you to make any adjustments.

Ensuring Valid Email Addresses

Ensure that your employee has a valid Work Email on their GoCo profile matches the email in their Slack profile.

If you've confirmed all settings are set up and employees are still not receiving notifications, it's time to check their emails.

Specific Notifications

  1. PTO Notifications:

  2. Expense Reimbursements:

    • Ensure that you have the Expense Reimbursements App installed.
    • Use the Employee-level Account Settings to enable or disable notifications for expense reimbursements.
  3. Team Surveys:

    • Ensure that you have the Team Surveys App installed.
    • Have your initial survey set up.
    • Ensure the delivery method for Slack is ON in the Surveys Settings page.
      • Note: This may require your Slack Administrator to “reauthorize” Slack if it hasn’t been done since February 2024.
    • If you wish to disable the distribution of Team surveys via Slack you will then be able to do so from the Team Surveys settings page or the Slack modal in the Marketplace.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your employees receive the necessary notifications in Slack and maintain effective communication within your organization.
