Two-Factor Authentication FAQ

Check out this help article for some frequently asked questions relating to 2 Factor Authentication & GoCo.

  • What is 2 Factor Authentication?
    • It is an extra security measure that you can enable so that when your employees are logging into GoCo, they are prompted to verify their identity. Click here to find out more! 
  • How do I set up a 2 Factor authentication method? 
    • If your admin has made 2-factor authentication required, then you will be prompted to set this up when logging into GoCo for the first time after this change has been made. If it is not required, but you still want to enable it - check out this help article for how to do this. 
  • Can I disable 2 Factor Authentication?
    • Full Access Admins are always required to use 2 Factor Authentication - however, all other team members may or may not be required depending on what their Full Access Admin has enabled in their Company Permissions. Full Access Admins can make 2 Factor Authentication required for all users if they like.
  • Can I reset my own 2 Factor Authentication? 
    • To completely reset two-factor authentication, you will have to reach out to your Full Access Admin to do so (this might be if you lost the device you have GoCo connected to and cannot log in). If you are able to log in & simply want to update your two-factor authentication to go to a different phone number or app, visit your employee account settings. Screen Shot 2023-10-02 at 9.04.06 PM
