2FA Change Notifications for Admins
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an essential layer of security to your GoCo account. By requiring an additional verification step, it ensures that only authorized users can access your account, even if your password is compromised.
How Does 2FA Work?
2FA is mandatory for all GoCo accounts. When logging in, you'll need to enter a 6-digit code, which can be:
- Sent via text message to your mobile phone
- Generated by an authentication app (like Google Authenticator)
- Sent via email
This process helps safeguard your account and sensitive employee data.
Employee Account Changes and Notifications (as of 11/14/24)
For security reasons, employees will be notified of changes to their accounts through both their personal and work email addresses. This ensures that any unauthorized changes can be flagged by the employee immediately.
Here are key scenarios where employees will be notified:
- Direct Deposit Changes: When a bank account is added or modified, employees will receive an email to both their personal and work email addresses.
- Email Address Changes: If an employee's work or personal email is updated, notifications will be sent to both their personal and work email addresses.
- 2FA Method Changes: If the 2FA method is updated, the employee will receive notifications to both email addresses.
- Password Changes: A password reset will trigger notifications to both personal and work emails.
Admin Actions
As an admin, here’s what you need to know:
- If you update an employee’s bank account, the employee will be automatically notified.
- Employees may reach out to you if they lose access to their email or authentication method. If this happens, they may request a 2FA reset so they can regain access to their account.
By following these guidelines, you can help ensure that your team’s accounts remain secure and that employees are informed of any critical changes to their account information.
