Understanding the QLE (Qualifying Life Event) Process
Submitting and processing a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) involves a few key steps. Here's a breakdown on what to expect:
1. Submitting a QLE
A QLE can be submitted by either an admin or an employee.
Once submitted, the QLE status will display as Pending Approval if FAA (Full Access Administrator) approval is required.
➡️ Learn more about how an FAA can approve or deny a QLE.
2. Approval Process
If FAA approval is required, the FAA will receive a notification to approve or deny the QLE.
After the FAA takes action:
-
If approved, the QLE status updates to Carrier Processing.
-
If denied, the QLE will not proceed further.

3. Carrier Processing
Carrier Processing means that the sync has not yet been finalized in the Benefit Sync Dashboard.
During this step:
-
The Benefit Processor must review the sync details.
-
Necessary updates must be made directly with the carrier (insurance provider).
-
Once updates are complete, the Benefit Processor should mark the sync as complete.
Important: Marking the sync as complete does not transmit any data to the carrier.
It is simply an internal step to confirm that you have updated the carrier's system manually.
4. Benefits Update in GoCo
After the sync is marked complete: The employee’s benefits will reflect the approved QLE changes in GoCo.
