All you need to know as a Full Access Admin to approve a Life Event! Including how to see your Life Event settings, how to approve a Life Event, & a Video Training Tutorial on this process.
There are 3 steps to completing a life event approval.

Life Event Settings
When an employee submits a life event, you as the admin may need to approve it prior to processing.
In order to check if you require approval or not, check out your Benefits Module. You can get there by clicking on your Benefits Module card on your company home page or from the navigation tabs on the left side of your screen.
In your Benefits module, switch over to your settings tab.
In your settings tab, you will see all of your Benefit settings. Scroll down & expand your life event settings to check if you are requiring admin approval for Life Events.
To make any changes to this setting, please reach out to your GoCo Administration Team.
Approving a Life Event
Now that you know what your Life Event Settings are, you can adjust them if needed.
If you do require admin approval when an employee submits a Life Event, you will have a task in your task list (the bell at the top right of your account) to approve or deny the life event.
If the life event is legitimate, you'll approve it and then it will be submitted for processing with the appropriate carrier(s).
If this life event is not legitimate, you will need to deny it and we recommend having a conversation with your employee to explain why the life event was denied.
Qualified events include but are not limited to, marriage, divorce, birth, and death. If you're unsure of what makes a life event legitimate or not, you'll want to reach out to your broker for additional guidance.
Now all you need to do is communicate this change to your carrier. This process could be different depending on your company, so check with your provider or GoCo admin if you need assistance.
Finalize Life Event in GoCo
To ensure that this update is reflected in GoCo, there is one final step to take. After confirming the change with the carrier, the designated admin will then update the benefit sync dashboard.
To do this click on "Benefit Sync" in the left-hand menu.
Look for the life event task associated with the specific employee and click to open it.
Click on the yellow incomplete button to view your choices, then click on "Complete (approved)" to finalize the action.
Your life event is now finalized and the employee will see these changes in their next pay period.
