GoCo Embedded Payroll uses Gusto’s core payroll infrastructure via APIs, allowing GoCo to maintain its modern interface while leveraging Gusto’s tax engine, tax payments, filings, and payroll processing.
As a stand-alone solution, Gusto is ideal for very small businesses (VSBs), with a primary focus on payroll. GoCo complements this by offering robust HR features, including hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, and time tracking.

Gusto’s Responsibilities:
- Provide the API to embed payroll into GoCo, handling payroll processing from start to finish, including tax filings and paystub generation.
- Support GoCo with resolving complex payroll inquiries.
- File all federal, state, and local taxes.
- Maintain fraud prevention measures.
