How to enable remote I-9 verification in GoCo
Looking to enable remote I-9 verification and make a few customizations? Keep reading to learn more!
- From the company home page navigate to the Documents tab and select "View"
- Make your way to Government Forms section and click on the ellipses button next to the Form I-9 Card. Select "Settings"
- Next you'll be greeted with a page providing you with several customization options for your I-9.
- Allowed I-9 Verifiers: Here you have two toggles you can turn off and on. If turned on, these toggles enable those options for the hiring admin to select inside the hiring workflow.
- It does not mean you a required to do one of them. It simply unlocks the ability in the dropdown when hiring to determine who is going to verify the I-9.
- ❗Note: USCIS does not specify who can be an authorized representative to verify an I-9. Some states (like CA) however have strict rules on who can verify an I-9. The company is liable for any violations of any federal or state requirements
- Eligibility Doc Upload: This determines who is verifying the I-9 to upload copies of the eligibility documents. So whether that be a hiring admin or a third-party verifier. This option can be made Required, Optional, or Hidden.
- I-9 Workflow Preview: A live workflow preview that will change as you customize your options.
