How to Create a Company Trend Report

Take your reporting to the next level by gaining access to aggregate data about your organization as a whole. This includes trends and data into headcount timelines, compensation details, & more. Keep reading to find out how!

Some examples of reports you might pull are:

  • Headcount Changes Over Time 
    • Take a closer look at the new total headcount field at the time interval of your choosing (ex. yearly, quarterly)
  • Terminations Over Time
    • Review the change in # of terminations with the new total terminations field at the time interval of your choosing
  • Cost of Wages by Department Over Time
    • Look at the new total wages field at the interval of your choosing, then analyze further with a department breakdown

Creating a Company Trend Report

  1. Login to GoCo & navigate to the Reports app from the Company Home page.
  2. Hit the "+ New Report" button either at the top of the screen or at the top of the " Standard Reports" section.Screen Shot 2024-03-05 at 1.59.45 PM
  3. Choose your path & either 
    1. Create from scratch
    2. Duplicate an existing report
    3. Download from our Marketplace Templates

  4. If you choose to create from scratch, you will then choose "Company Trend" as your report type.Screen Shot 2024-03-05 at 2.24.28 PM
  5. You will then go through your settings to create your report, includingScreen Shot 2024-03-05 at 2.58.26 PM
    1. Basic Info - name your report, add a description & iconScreen Shot 2024-03-05 at 3.00.06 PM
    2. Report Options (⭐ Hint: Use the "?" icon for definitions of these fields)Screen Shot 2024-03-05 at 3.09.55 PM
      1. Time interval (Think in terms of X-Axis… Do you want this to show data points daily? Weekly? Monthly?)
      2. Date range (Think of this as a filter. You can select the date range you want to generate data from.
      3. Breakdown By (Department, Location, None)

    3. Report Fields - This allows you to select which fields to add to your Custom Report. They will appear as Columns. GoCo will automatically pull some fields, however, be sure to add any additional fields you'd like to pull before saving. Screen Shot 2024-03-05 at 3.22.04 PM
    4. Permissions - Here you'll simply review the users that have access to this report. To make changes, visit the Permissions app from your Company Home Page.Screen Shot 2024-03-05 at 3.22.59 PM
  6. Now hit "Continue" & your report will be generated!

  7. You can now download your report, schedule it to be emailed to you periodically, & even create a visual graph with this information! To do this, simply select your chart type & choose your x & y axis fields. (⭐Hint: you can select more than one y-axis value to display multiple values at once)
