Does GoCo Calculate Backpay?
Embedded payroll automatically sends all employee changes to the payroll run; However, there are a few notes surrounding pay. See below!
To ensure employees are paid correctly, follow these best practices when updating pay rates in GoCo.
-
Effective Dates: While GoCo supports any effective date in the employment and compensation changes wizard, mid pay period changes to wage type, wage rate and job title are not supported on the GoCo Payroll side. To avoid this, use the earliest date in the pay period when entering the change in the employee's profile.
- If you need to support a mid-pay period change, you must enter that change after payroll has been processed. Doing so before payroll is processed will cause an error within the payroll run.
- Adjusting Pay: GoCo does not automatically calculate backpay. Any backpay will need to be manually processed by the admin. You can do so by processing an off-cycle, and/or adding an additional earning to the regular pay-run.
By following these steps, you can ensure that employee pay changes are managed smoothly without any surprises during payroll processing.
