You've been notified there's a new task to complete in your GoCo account - in this article we'll go through how to efficiently complete your assigned tasks.
Completing a task is simple ✅
Check out the steps below on how to mark this off of your to-do list!
- Access your Inbox (2 methods)
- On your homepage check the "Inbox Notifications" section to view your tasks.
- Click on "Inbox" via your left-side menu and review the list of tasks assigned to you:
- Select the task that needs to be completed.
- The details of the task will pop out on your right side with details on what action(s) you need to take
- From here, there are a few important things to notice:
- Details: This is where you'll see any and all details related to the task you need to complete. It could be blank - or there could be required fields you need to complete. Looking at the screenshot example in this article, you'll notice the task assignee is required to upload a receipt before he/she can mark this task as complete.
- Assignees: if you click here, you should always see yourself assigned. However, perhaps this task is assigned to multiple users - you have full visibility on who.
- Due date: this is when the task should be completed by.
- Comments: This is a nifty tool to communicate with yourself, other task assignees, and/or your HR admin.
- You can also edit your comments if there's a typo 😉
- Remember, HR admins can view and remove comments if necessary.
- From here, there are a few important things to notice:
- Change the status of the task to communicate where you are in regards to the completion
- If you have fully completed the task - simply click on the blue "Complete" button and the task status will change to Completed!
- If you haven't yet fully completed the task, there are more options! Click on the blue down arrow button next to "Complete" and you'll notice a few other options:
- Incomplete: this is the default and means you have not started to complete the task.
- In-Progress: this status means the task is in progress to completion.
- Blocked: this means you are unable to complete this task because you are blocked. Using the example of the screenshot in this article, perhaps the employee suddenly went on leave, or maybe you don't have transportation to take them to lunch.
- Canceled: this means the task doesn't apply, or no longer applies.
- Completed: this means the task has been completed!
