Payroll Processing Deadlines & What Happens If You Miss Them

To ensure your team gets paid on time, it’s critical to process your payroll by the required deadline. Missing the cut-off can result in delayed paydays for your employees—and we want to help you avoid that at all costs.

🕓 Payroll Submission Deadline

To meet your scheduled payday and ensure direct deposit is delivered on time, payroll must be submitted by 2:00 PM Pacific Time (PT), two business days before your payday.

Example: If your scheduled payday is Friday, your payroll must be submitted by 2:00 PM (PT) on Wednesday.

🚫 What Happens If You Miss the Deadline?

If payroll is submitted after the 2:00 PM PT cutoff:

  • It will not be initiated until the next business day.

  • Your employees' direct deposits will be delayed by at least one day.

  • The system will automatically push the pay date out if payroll is submitted past the final system cutoff.

⚠️ GoCo does not offer or support Next Day Payroll as a standard practice. If a payroll is late, the pay date must be pushed to the next available day.
