Offboarding Financial Export Guide

Learn how to download your payroll reports, tax forms, and benefits data before your GoCo account closes.

Plan for your final payroll 💲

Before you begin downloading your historical files, ensure your final payroll run is complete and all deductions are processed.

After your deactivation date, your access to the platform is removed, and you won't be able to log back in to retrieve financial files. Downloading these records now ensures your business remains compliant with federal and state retention laws.

Download payroll and tax reports 📊

Once your API connection is disconnected and account ownership is transferred, you'll have full direct access to your historical records in Gusto, though you can also download your payroll data from GoCo before completing offboarding.

If you need immediate access to your payroll settings and current reports, complete these steps inside the platform:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Select your first historical pay run.
    1. Find Payroll > Payroll Journal >Specific Payroll Run > select Payroll Type (i.e. Regular) > Scroll down to the bottom of the drop down to find the first pay run. 
  3. Select Download Report.
  4. Repeat this process to download the audit file for each individual payroll run in your history.
  5. Review your current payroll configuration screens in Payroll Settings and manually note your setup for your records, including your Earnings and Deductions.

Export benefits census and ACA data 📂

Download your company's benefits enrollment history and the documentation required for end-of-year ACA reporting.

  1. Go to Reports and find the Benefits Category.
  2. Select Benefits Enrollment Census Report to download a snapshot of all team members and dependent enrollments.
  3. Select Health Coverage by Month.
  4. Enter your company start date to capture your complete historical coverage data for ACA reporting.
  5. Select Enrollment Activity Report to save a timeline of all enrollment methods and completed dates.
  6. Go to Benefits > Forms and download your historical Carrier Forms, EOI Forms, and HSA Application Forms by category.
