How to Set Up and Generate an EEO Report in GoCo

GoCo’s new EEO reporting feature makes it easier than ever to collect, organize, and export the data you need for federal EEO-1 reporting. This guide walks you through setting up the EEO app and building your report in just four steps.

Add the EEO App

  1. Head to the GoCo Marketplace and add the EEO Reporting app.

You’ll be guided through four key steps:Screenshot 2025-05-28 at 10.39.00 AM
  1. Job Mapping
  2. Race/Ethnicity Collection
  3. Workforce Data Sync
  4. Review

Step 1: Job Mapping

In this step, you'll map your company's job titles in GoCo to the 10 federally defined EEO Job Categories. This ensures your EEO report includes accurate job category data.

  • Each GoCo job title can only be mapped once.
  • You may assign multiple GoCo job titles to a single EEO category, but not the other way around.

Example:

  • GoCo Job Title: Chief Executive Officer -----> Mapped to: Executive/Senior-Level Officials and Managers
  • ✅ Valid: One-to-one mapping
  • ❌ Invalid: The same job title mapped to multiple categories
A warning alert will show how many job titles remain unmapped, but you will not be blocked from moving forward.

⚠️ Have hundreds of outdated job titles in your history? You only need to map the ones relevant to your current reporting needs.

Step 2: Race/Ethnicity Data Collection

Next, you’ll configure how GoCo collects Race/Ethnicity data:Screenshot 2025-05-28 at 10.45.08 AM

  • You’ll be asked to consent to enable collection of this information.
  • Once enabled, Race/Ethnicity will appear as an optional field during employee onboarding.

📌 Note: This step only applies to collecting data from new hires going forward.

Step 3: Workforce Data Sync

To include historical Race/Ethnicity data in your report, use the Team Import tool to backfill missing data.Screenshot 2025-05-28 at 10.46.40 AM

  1. Click the Team Import link.
  2. Populate the import template with available data, which includes:
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Race/Ethnicity

Once the data is successfully imported, you’ll see a Data Saved confirmation message.

Step 4: Review & Confirm Setup

This final screen summarizes your setup progress:Screenshot 2025-05-28 at 10.50.45 AM

  • ✅ Are job titles mapped?
  • ✅ Is Race/Ethnicity collection enabled for future hires?
  • ✅ Has historical data been backfilled (if applicable)?

You can proceed even if one or more steps are marked Pending—GoCo doesn’t block you if your report doesn't require all data points at this time.

Click Confirm Setup to finalize the process.

Generating Your EEO Report

Once setup is complete, you'll be taken to the EEO Report page, where you can:

  • View your EEO Data Matrix
  • Set a Workforce Snapshot Date Range (e.g., October through December)
  • Filter for Active Employees only
  • Export the Matrix in .XLS format

And that's it! 🎉
