At GoCo, we understand that every company has unique needs when it comes to offering benefits. That's why we've made it possible to set up eligibility rules based on employment type and Company Class. This article will help you understand how these settings work and what to do if you need to make changes.
Understanding Company Classes
Company Classes are a great way to group employees together who share the same benefit eligibility requirements. For example, you might have different rules for full-time employees versus part-time employees. Here are a couple of examples of how you might set up Company Classes:
-
Part-time, less than 30 hours: This class includes employees who work a reduced schedule and may not be eligible for certain benefits.
-
Part-time, more than 30 hours: This class includes employees who work a near full-time schedule and might be eligible for some or all of the same benefits as your full-time staff.
We know that benefit administration can be a bit tricky, and we want to ensure everything is set up perfectly for you and your team. Because these settings have such a big impact, only a member of the GoCo team can create or edit your Company Classes.
