With the flexibility of GoCo's advanced permissions, you can create roles to be applied to multiple people. Here are some great use cases to get started:

"Advanced" Manager:

In this role, you would expect the manager to fully manage their employees. This starts with the onboarding process, verifying their documents, managing their compensation/merit changes, and terminating (when necessary). Here are the permissions you need to enable for this role:

  1. Company Access: ❌ No Access
  2. Team Access:
    1. Specify the users (typically you'd use direct + indirect reports, but you can also filter by department/location/etc)
      1. Benefits: 👁️ Can View
      2. Contact Info: ✏️ Can Edit
      3. Custom Fields (if applicable): ✏️ Can Edit
      4. Documents: ⭐ Full Access
      5. Emergency Contacts: 👁️ Can View
      6. Employment & Compensation: ✏️ Can Edit

Accountant:

In this role, you might need provide your accountant access to: process changes to compensation, view employees banking/tax withholding, view the payroll sync dashboard to ensure changes are being captured properly.
